Jupiter is the largest planet and the fifth planet from the sun in our solar system. It is also known as a Gas Giant planet as it is made up of Gases [Mostly of hydrogen and helium]. It is a massive planet and spins the fastest in our solar system. Jupiter can’t become a star and has rings. It has a very unique cloud layer. It is the brightest after Venus, moon and sun. It can be seen by the naked eye from Earth. 

Learning, expansion and abundance are represented by Jupiter in our horoscope. It’s the governor of prosperity and good fortune in astrology. Jupiter can affect the ears, kidneys, brain, tongue, memory and fat of the individual.

Yellow sapphire is a gemstone that is primarily related to Jupiter. It is called by many different names such as Pukhraj, Gurupriya, Gururatna, Guruvallabh, Peetmani, Vachaspati Vallabh, Pushparaag and pitman. Its colour ranges between golden, yellow and orange. The yellow colour of it is affected by the amount of iron and titanium which is present within the sapphire. Yellow sapphire has a lot of meaning, it itself represents divine grace and power. Its toughness is considered very hard and it is scratch resistant as well.  The word sapphire in yellow sapphire comes from the Greek word ‘Sappheiros’ which means ‘lapis lazuli’.

 It was discovered in the same region where rubies were found in Chanthaburi in the 15th century. It was popular because of its unique yellowish colour, the colour was called ‘Mekong whiskey’. Sri Lanka is the primary source of fine quality yellow sapphire. Other countries that mine yellow sapphire are Thailand, Burma and Australia. 


HOW TO WEAR YELLOW SAPPHIRE 

Some measure before you start wearing yellow sapphire

> Make sure that the weight of the yellow sapphire should be more than 2.5 carats. The more the weight of the stone the more benefits you got.

> The most important step before starting wearing the ring, put Ganga Jal in a copper bowl and leave it there overnight, then in the morning dip the ring in cow’s milk for about ten minutes and wash it using the Ganga Jal from last night, this step will remove the negativity from your ring and add positivity in it. 

> Before wearing the stone, sit in the east, north or the northeast side of the house on yellow coloured cloth. 

> The ring of yellow sapphire should be worn on the index finger of the right hand on Shukla paksha on Thursday.

> Remember to clean the ring regularly with a soft brush.


WARNING: Never wear yellow sapphire stone with diamond, blue sapphire, hessonite, and emerald as it can be more harmful than good. Don’t put harsh chemicals and acids on the stone. Be aware of duplicate and synthetic yellow sapphire and only wear good quality real yellow sapphire. 


WHO SHOULD WEAR YELLOW SAPPHIRE

If Jupiter is in 2nd, 7th, or 10th position in your horoscope, then you can wear the stone, wearing it will be beneficial for you. And if Jupiter is in a weak position in your birth chart, then wearing the stone can be harmful to you in different aspects such as problems in social life, finance and body diseases.
